Malachi Beasley To Star Opposite Jamie Foxx In Netflix Sports Drama ‘Fight For ’84’
EXCLUSIVE: Sources are telling us that thespian-on-the-rise Malachi Beasley is starring opposite Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Netflix sports drama movie Fight for ’84.
The project, directed by Andrés Baiz and written by Oscar nominees Andrea Berloff, John Gatins and White Boy Rick‘s Andy Weiss, is set in 1980. After the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team is tragically killed in a plane crash, a new coach is brought in to rebuild the team from scratch and lead them to victory at the ‘84 Olympics, winning the most medals in Olympic boxing history.
The movie reunites producer Eric Newman and Andrés Baiz directing, the duo having previously teamed on the successful hit show Griselda for Netflix as well as Narcos. Producers are Eric Newman for Grand Electric, Bryan Unkeless for Night Owl, Foxx and Michael W. Abbott for A Move Films Production.
